Halloween in New Orleans

Halloween is one of the very best times to visit New Orleans. The weather is at its most pleasant for walking in the French Quarter or taking the streetcar out to see be beautiful old mansions of the Garden District. You get a feel for the revelry and masking of Mardi Gras but without the enormous crowds. It is one of the locals' favorite holidays, and many people put a lot of work into their costumes. Friday night, October 31, will probably be the peak night of the celebrations, but we won't kick things off until 1pm Saturday to give you a chance to sleep off your Halloween adventures..

The Krewe of BOO parade and costume ball benefit for employees of the New Orleans Police, Fire, and EMS
October 31
www.kreweofboo.org/

The Krewe of Boo- New Orleans' Official Halloween Parade- is the newest addition to the City's festival season!

Created by New Orleans' own Blaine Kern Sr., THE mastermind producing Mardi Gras for over 60 years, the Krewe of Boo will be unlike any other parade in the world. Not only is the Krewe of Boo the first Halloween Parade in New Orleans history, it is the first parade with a charitable cause! Mr. Kern's vision for this unique event was to give back to New Orleans first responders the best way he knows how...by throwing a party! Every dollar generated by the Krewe of Boo benefits New Orleans police, fire, and EMS personnel.
